The Portrait Experience

Looking back at my photographer history, portraits and lifestyle photography were my first loves. I was ecstatic to capture my sons’ personalities at each and every stage from lying on the floor looking up at me to their first steps to their first time riding a bike without training wheels. While I grew better at the art of posing families for “the big group photo,” I also began exploring posing prompts that encourage interaction and connection among family members. The connections and love I captured by telling fathers and daughters to share an eskimo kiss or prompting couples to tell each other what their favorite breakfast foods are in their most seductive voices was photography magic.

It’s for this reason I like to explain my approach to portrait photography as
a hybrid of traditional poses and lifestyle prompts.

During our time together we’ll get the family photo with everyone smiling at the camera as well as the fun, candid moments where the individual personalities of every member of the group shines as well as the relationships you share with each other. To me this combination is the perfect recipe in a photo session.

I can’t wait to capture your special moments!

We are all so in love with the photos!! You do amazing work!! I have been passing along your name to everyone I've shown as well! I can' thank you enough for not only your amazing work, but for also being so kind and accommodating with my family. It makes such a difference and I am so appreciative! ~Erika H.
