Hey, I’m Elizabeth!

14 years ago, I was fresh out of college, an almost-adult, applying for teaching jobs up and down the East Coast. At that time, my interaction with photography was limited to the occasional disposable camera snap (90’s kids will understand) and school photos of me and my cousins that my grandma cherished. I spent 13 years in the realm of education, where I was known for my unique and patient approach with children of various ages. However, life had a different plan for me. Becoming a mom to two amazing boys, I was captivated by their rapid growth, inspiring me to capture every little moment on film. My memory couldn’t keep up with their changes, so in 2016, I began experimenting with our family’s DSLR camera, and that's where my photographic history began.

After a few years, I was fortunate enough to transition from classroom teaching to pursuing my passion for photography full time. Capturing love, emotion, and the special connections between families and couples brought me immense joy. Every photo session was a reminder of the unique and precious stories I was entrusted to tell. Yet, the educator in me never faded away. My journey through photography didn't just enhance my artistic skills; it also rekindled my love for teaching. Now, I've returned to the educational field, combining my passion for photography with my love for teaching. This dual experience allows me to offer my students an enriched and diverse learning environment. I’m truly thankful for this unexpected yet fulfilling journey.

What You Can Expect From Me

You can trust I care deeply about you and your family. You are not just another session on my calendar.

You’ve made the decision to invest in professional photography and I want your experience with me to be top notch.

I’ll work hard from our initial contact to final gallery delivery to develop your trust, comfort, and confidence in me.

Our relationship is one I hope to have for many years to come!

My Goal

I am acutely aware that the idea of a photo session gives plenty of people a deer in the headlights look. I get it. Before beginning EK Photography you’d have a hard time convincing me to get on the other side of the camera as the subject of photographs.

What if I don’t look good? What if my kids don’t behave? Will I feel awkward getting cozy with my spouse with a photographer a few feet away?

I’m here to tell you I’ve got you covered.

It’s my goal to capture your everyday and special event memories in images that you will treasure and look back on for years to come. I strive to highlight your family dynamic and each individual’s personality in my images. And I’ll be there with you for every step along the way to be sure you’re feeling confident, important, and incredible before, during, and after your session.
