The Photographic Charm of the Trexler Nature Preserve

Happy December! As I sit here writing this blog, we are preparing for the holiday season in my house and I am dreaming of warm summer nights where the sun seems to never set. There is no photo location more quintessentially summer than The Trexler Nature Preserve in Schnecksville. I shoot all of my summer sunset and creek sessions there because of its incredible beauty and versatility during the summer months. Though I could list a million reasons I love the Trexler Nature Preserve for a photo session, here are my top 3 reasons you might want to consider it for your next session.

The preserve changes throughout the summer months.

When I first began shooting at the Trexler Nature Preserve, I noticed the background presented by the preserve changed several times throughout the summer season. From long grasses to beautiful pod plants to wildflowers, the backdrop for each session is never duplicated. I like to think of it as a fun surprise each time I arrive there for a session. What kind of nature will we experience today?

A more gorgeous sunset location doesn’t exist in the Lehigh Valley.

In my opinion, there is no more beautiful place to see and photograph a sunset than the Trexler Nature Preserve. The meet times for summer sunset sessions change throughout the summer depending on the predicted time for sunset so we can highlight that warm, golden glow in your photos. If you see me smiling from behind the lens while I’m capturing your family in images, it’s likely because I know the light behind you is stunning and beautifully enhancing the images of you!

Jordan Creek is a unique option for a summer creek session.

If you’re feeling more adventurous and you enjoy getting your feet wet, Jordan Creek at the Trexler Nature Preserve is a perfect setting for your photos. Typically the water is only a few inches deep which is ideal for little ones to explore in. Kiddos love splashing in the creek, skipping stones, and looking for tadpoles during these sessions. A session in Jordan Creek is a unique and special way for me to capture your family dynamic while you’re engaged in some water fun!

Though the majority of my sessions at Trexler Nature Preserve take place in the summer months, this location is an excellent choice year round. The fall foliage can’t be beat and the spring blooms are breathtaking. If we haven’t met for a session at the Trexler Nature Preserve yet, consider it for your next session with me!
