Let’s start with the most important reason of all for having a professional photo session…you get to be in the photos! As a mom, I’m always ready with my phone to capture my kids doing the latest awesome thing. But, me taking the photo means I’m often not in it. I want my boys to look back at photos of themselves when they’re older and remember, not only did mom capture their most precious moments, but also she was there, too!. Having a professional photo session allows the photographer to capture your entire family and your connections and love for each other at a moment in time. Being in the photo is just as important as taking the photo and this is best accomplished during a professional photo session.

Yes, we all know the selfie rules…but extending your arm at an awkward position and smooshing everyone together to make sure you’re all in the frame isn’t always a great look. Years of education and practice have made me excellent at posing people of all different ages, shapes, and sizes so they all look their best and I do it quickly! I use lots of small tweaks in a pose flow so we accomplish a variety of poses in a short amount of time. Have worries about a certain area on your body? You share those with me via a questionnaire before our session so I can take your concerns into account when planning the most flattering poses for your group. Being a professional photographer isn’t just knowing how to use your camera. It’s also knowing how to make your clients look great through posing!

This last reason is near and dear to both my heart and my brand. Professional photo sessions aren’t just about the final gallery of delivered images. They are an experience that starts with the initial inquiry and ends (hopefully) many years later with lots of repeat sessions. As a photographerl who knows the value of professional photos and the financial and personal commitment my clients make to trusting me with their memories, I provide all of my clients a full service experience from start to finish. Booking a photo session with me includes a client styling guide with wardrobe tips for every member of the family as well as a detailed explanation of what you can expect before, during, and after your session. I get to know you through a comprehensive questionnaire and we work together to select the ideal location for your session using a location guide I created with my favorite places to shoot in the Lehigh Valley. Your final gallery is delivered via a password protected gallery with a video tutorial explaining how to access all of your images, order prints and products, and upgrade your gallery. I’ve even worked with clients to design photo walls using the images from their session! There is no step in the process I haven’t considered and taken care to plan out to make my clients feel at ease and like EK Photography VIPs.
